A strategic pivot was advised to consolidate the client’s phased remodel and deck addition into a single-phase execution, maximizing fiscal efficiency and aesthetic integrity. This approach enabled a comprehensive stylistic transformation, modernizing a dated Spanish structure into a refined Mediterranean Contemporary residence.Key structural innovations, including a concealed steel framework, made airy vaulted ceilings and a seamless indoor–outdoor connection possible. The integration of floor-to-ceiling folding glass doors and premium marble flooring elevate the experience, resulting in a high-performance luxury residence with strong curb appeal and coastal functionality.

Beach Bungalow
Situated just blocks from the beach, with sand lining the streets, this modest two-bedroom bungalow enjoyed an enviable location but was constrained by a dark, compartmentalized floor plan. The design challenge was to significantly improve functionality and interior finishes within the existing footprint, including a full kitchen remodel opened to the living room and the addition of a master bathroom, without expanding the exterior walls.The interior layout was reconfigured to maximize natural light and spatial flow, featuring custom built-ins, new crown molding, and continuous wood flooring throughout. The completed project demonstrates how strategic architectural reprogramming can transform a modest cottage into a high-functioning, modern coastal retreat without the need for an exterior addition.
Concept Design
Youth Center
A pro bono concept design for a youth center in Haiti, envisioned as a comprehensive facility supporting education, recreation, and basic health services. The project integrates dormitories, classrooms for academic and vocational training, and a multi-purpose gymnasium to foster physical wellness and community engagement. Fruit and vegetable gardens are incorporated to promote sustainable agriculture, self-sufficiency, and access to fresh food. The project was commissioned by an award-winning journalist, author, and filmmaker dedicated to global human rights and social justice advocacy.
New Residence
Tropical Modernism
Tropical modernist courtyard residence spanning 6,000 square feet across two levels. Organized around a lush central courtyard, the home integrates outdoor showers and a swimming pool, blurring the boundary between indoor and outdoor living. Expansive glazing, abundant natural light, and a carefully considered spatial sequence reinforce a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. The design emphasizes privacy, climate responsiveness, and seamless circulation throughout. Responsibilities included design development, 3D modeling, and 2D documentation.

Led by California-licensed architect Nathan Reasons, he brings over 20 years of experience across a wide range of building types. While residential work is the core focus, including single-family homes, additions, renovations, and accessory dwelling units, Nathan’s background also includes educational facilities, Class A office buildings, technology campuses, and high-rise structures.
